The BAS library holds a wide collection of scientific books, journals, and offprints covering geology, geophysics, glaciology, climatology, meteorology, upper atmosphere physics, and marine, terrestrial and freshwater biology – all with a general polar emphasis.
In addition, there is a broad collection of material on the history of the polar regions, including historic expedition reports and personal memoirs.
External researchers and students are welcome to use the library by prior arrangement. Please note that occasionally the library is unattended so it is important to contact us before visiting.
